With over 15 years in the wine and spirits industry, David Messum is a distinguished wine marketer, winemaker, and presenter. His extensive expertise is backed by a BA Honours in Media and Journalism from Leeds Beckett University, a WSET Diploma, Prince2 Practitioner certification, and an IDEM Diploma in International Marketing.

Winemaking Excellence
David's passion for winemaking shines through his project, Born & Raised Wines, which earned a 4.5 Star Halliday rating upon its debut and secured Gold medals at both the Melbourne and London Wine Shows. His dedication to quality led him to work with renowned New Zealand wineries like Craggy Range and Pyramid Valley, and to explore the intricacies of Nebbiolo in Piedmont, Italy.
Industry Leadership
As the founder of Just the Drop, David collaborates with international wine associations and enhancing brands such as Maison AIX, The Loire Valley, Alsace Wines, Provence Wines, Naoussa Wines, and Wines of Greece. His thought leadership is evident through contributions to Drinks Trade Magazine, chairing the panel tastings to further writings for the Wine Business Magazine and his role as "the wine guy" on Virgin Australia’s What’s Cooking radio show. Through Sydney Wine Tasting, he hosts exclusive corporate events and training programs, sharing his passion and knowledge with fellow enthusiasts.
