2021 Adrian Rodda Triangle Block Chardonnay Beechworth
Region: Victoria
Sub Region: Beechworth
Variety: Chardonnay
Country: Australia
Vintage: 2021
The wine
Quietly powerful aromas of wild flowers, citrus and white nectarine combine with secondary characters of freshly grilled nuts and almond meal. Complex and intense, a creamy, velvety texture is underlined by citrus acidity and gentle spice finishing with a grapefruit pithiness that is intense, precise and long.
Facing South-East and consisting of just 183 vines, this block consistently produces Chardonnay of the highest quality. In the best growing seasons, the resulting wine is elevated to a new level worthy of a single block release.

Cellared says
Even over the year from its release this wine continues to grow in power and precision. The oak is simply seductive, supporting the supple stone fruit notes and elevating it as quality wood should. There drive and line form that high altitude acid but also a generosity that is sometimes lost in modern Chardonnay.
Wine reviews
96 points
“Pear and white nectarine, a fair amount of high quality spicy biscuit oak, almond meal, floral with a subtle fennel perfume. Smooth, savoury and saline, fine persistent talc-like texture is a highlight, with a white flower/vanilla and spicy finish of super length and grapefruity zing. Oak needs a little more time to bed in, but here’s a great Chardonnay."- Gary Walsh (The Wine Front)
