The Wine
Grosset Wines is a small family-run operation entering its fifth decade. The unwavering vision is to create pure expressions of variety and place. Our four estate-owned vineyards, A-Grade Certified Organic and Biodynamic (ACO), are located in high altitude country of the Clare Valley, each site selected for its potential to produce great wine and planted by Grosset. Each is handpicked and hand pruned; each bunch of grapes harvested at optimum ripeness
Cellared Says
The icon Australian Riesling and the most cellared white wine in Australia. Upon release the wine is almost always 96pts and above and offers such consistency in the cellar it is a worthy and indeed excellent value addition to any cellar.
Reviews
Tremendously different to the ‘Mesh’ of the same year – co-made by Grosset – this release of Polish Hill is very close to perfect. It’s limey, pure, clean and intense, with a fennel-flavoured strength through what is a powerfully taut, powerfully intense mid palate. The structure here, the softness of the high natural acid, the mineral notes dangling around the edges – it’s a wonderful wine.

Much less evolved than the 2001, the 2002 Polish Hill Riesling is still very citrusy with lemongrass, white blossoms, shaved almonds and chalk. Very zesty and taut, it offers crisp green apple and lemon flavors throughout the very long finish. This wine still has a lot to give! It is approachable now but can cellar to 2025+. The 2012 vintage was typical in terms of heat and rain which resulted in wines closer to the 2001 vintage in style.
